BrightChildLearning (“BCL,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is primarily a resource for parents and other adults caring for young children. This policy explains how we handle information when you visit our website, use our resources, contact us, or join our email list. It also explains cookies and your privacy choices.

Information we collect
Information you choose to provide. You may give us your adult name, email address, and the contents of a message or other voluntary submission when you contact us or sign up for updates. Please share only what is needed for your request and do not include identifying information about a child.
Information collected automatically. Our website and service providers may receive your IP address, browser and device details, pages visited, referring pages, and visit times. Cookies and similar technologies may also record preferences and how the site is used. The information collected depends on the services enabled on the website.
Accounts, email subscriptions, and purchases are intended for adults. If we introduce BCL accounts or memberships, we will explain any additional information collected before you sign up. Book purchases currently take place through Amazon, not a BCL checkout.
How we use and share information
We use information to provide resources, respond to messages, send updates you request, understand and improve the website, keep it secure, prevent misuse, and meet legal obligations. Joining our email list is voluntary; you can unsubscribe at any time.
Providers supporting functions such as hosting, email delivery, forms, and security may process information for those services. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights or safety, or complete a business transfer with appropriate privacy protections. We may share information at your direction or with your consent.
We do not currently sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We have not intentionally enabled optional analytics or advertising tracking tools on the current website. Our hosting platform and basic website features may still process technical information, such as IP addresses, or use cookies needed for operation and security.
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the website works. Browser choices may need to be repeated on another browser or device, or after clearing cookies. We have not configured the website to respond differently to browser Do Not Track signals.
As we add services, we will update this policy to reflect their information practices and provide any choices or consent controls required by applicable law.
Amazon and other third parties
Our books are available through Amazon, including books published through Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP). When you follow a book link and buy through Amazon, Amazon handles the transaction and information you provide there under its own privacy notice. BCL does not collect your payment card details for those purchases. We may receive sales and royalty reports through KDP.
We may add affiliate links in the future. If we do, we may earn a commission from qualifying purchases, and we will identify affiliate relationships where links appear. Affiliate services may use cookies or similar tools to attribute a referral. A link to our own book does not by itself mean that it is an affiliate link.
Other websites and third-party features have their own privacy practices. Review their privacy notices before submitting information or using their services. This policy describes BCL’s practices and does not replace those notices.
Security and retention
We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information, but no website or transmission method is completely secure. We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including handling requests, maintaining necessary business records, and meeting legal obligations. We then delete or de-identify it, subject to necessary backup retention. We may retain a minimal unsubscribe record to respect your email preferences.
Children’s privacy
BCL does not knowingly solicit or collect personal information from children. Our contact forms, email list, and any account or purchasing features are for adults. Please do not submit a child’s name, birthday, email address, location, photo, school, or similar identifying information.
The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) protects the personal information of children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to BCL, contact us below. We will investigate and promptly delete information collected contrary to this policy or applicable law. Our adult-facing approach does not remove any obligations that apply to information collected automatically or by services operating on our behalf.
In the future, we may allow a parent or caregiver to optionally provide non-identifying information, such as a child’s age or age range, to recommend developmentally appropriate content. This capability is not currently available. We would not request identifying details or use the information to identify an individual child. Age information can become personal information when linked with other data, and we would protect it accordingly. We will update this policy before introducing materially different collection practices.
Your privacy choices and rights
Email. Use the unsubscribe link in a marketing email or contact us to stop receiving marketing messages. We may still reply to your requests or send necessary service messages. Cookie choices are explained above.
Privacy requests. Depending on where you live and whether a law applies to BCL, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information; opt out of its sale, sharing, or use for targeted advertising; limit certain uses of sensitive information; or appeal a denied request. We will honor applicable rights, including legally required opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control, without unlawful discrimination.
Contact us below to make a request or appeal. We may need to verify your identity or an authorized agent’s authority using only information reasonably necessary. Some information may be retained where permitted or required by law. We will respond within applicable legal time limits and explain any denial and available appeal process.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the website or our practices change. We will post the revised version with a new Effective Date and provide additional notice or obtain consent when required by law.
